MENTORSHIP 2 MASTERCLASS

With arts education as a foundational goal, and with an ensemble made up of arts educators, teachers, and student advocates, Equinox Global Missions is eager to take its music instruction into underserved schools across the country. Whether for a day's visit or for a longer residency project, this educational outreach has proven to be an effective recruitment tool for younger students thinking about music programs, or an enriching masterclass for students who are currently studying music.

This program meets the following national standards and benchmarks for music education:

1. Listening to, analyzing and describing music

2. Identifying various instruments

3. Evaluating music and music performances

4. Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts

5. Understanding music in relation to history and culture

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

Everyone remembers the music, and that truth is most poignant when we perform for senior communities. A familiar melody can unlock the brain and touch the heart in a way no other treatment can. In 2018, we began a series of performances for assisted living facilities in Georgia and South Carolina, which was more impactful than we could have anticipated. Since then, Equinox Global Missions has continued and expanded this music ministry to therapy centers, hospice houses, and any place where joy can be ignited by a song.

MUSIC MISSION INITIATIVE

In 2014, Jeremy and Clay traveled to India together on a mission trip to work with churches and orphanages in desperate need. It was on that journey where the dream was born to take the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra to the far reaches of the planet on musical mission trips using their gifts and talents to entertain, connect, and serve. The very next year, through the support of generous donors, the big band traveled to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to work with the church there, leading a children's music camp and performing concerts to better connect the church with the community. In the years since, similar campaigns have taken EGM to places like Poland and Israel for more music missions.

CONNECT COMMUNITY

One of the primary purposes of Equinox Global Missions is to help connect non-profit organizations with their surrounding communities. Music draws a crowd, and often we can help a charity get their message out to a larger audience by putting on a show. Free concerts, fund-raisers, public events, virtual performances, etc., are all ways in which Equinox Global Missions has helped raise awareness and financial support for a wide variety of non-profit organizations across the country.
